Applications

Linear position sensing for environments that are hard on sensors.

LVR is intended for linear measurement applications where heat, pressure, corrosion, radiation, magnetic fields, or distance from electronics make conventional sensor selection more difficult.

Where LVR Fits

When the environment matters as much as the measurement.

Many linear position applications are straightforward until the operating environment becomes extreme. At that point, sensor selection is driven not only by stroke length or accuracy, but also by temperature, survivability, electrical noise, and where the electronics can safely be located.

LVR was developed for these kinds of difficult linear sensing problems, especially where a non-contact measurement approach and remote electronics can provide an advantage.

Radiation-exposed environments
Corrosive or pressurized equipment
Magnetic-field or EMI exposure
High-temperature linear measurement
Application Examples

Potential uses for LVR linear sensing.

Kiln and furnace processes

Monitoring motion, displacement, or process-related movement in hot industrial environments where electronics need protection.

Harsh industrial equipment

Linear feedback for machines exposed to heat, pressure, corrosive materials, vibration, or electrical noise.

Special-purpose OEM systems

Custom sensing applications where a conventional off-the-shelf linear sensor is difficult to package or protect.
